Artist Introduction
以平面設計背景出身的 Malte Jehmlich，自 2004 年起為德國 sputnic 視覺藝術與設計組合的一員。他與 sputnic 共同發展了一種融合了表演、偶戲、圖像小說和動畫的混合藝術形式－LIVE ANIMATION CINEMA。其核心是在舞台上通過紙質光影戲偶、高射投影機或影像系統，創造現場動畫和即時剪輯的電影體驗。在這些作品中，Malte 主要擔任視覺藝術家、場景設計師、技術人員與執行。在他的獨角秀和特定場域的裝置作品中，巧妙結合了抽象和具象元素，尤其注重使用定製的機電元件與光影。他的作品以手工的獨特魅力和童趣感，為嚴肅的主題注入了輕鬆的氛圍。
Malte Jehmlich, originally trained in graphic design, has been a member of the German visual arts and design collective sputnic since 2004. Together with sputnic, he has pioneered a hybrid art form known as LIVE ANIMATION CINEMA, which merges performance, puppetry, graphic novels, and animation. This innovative approach involves creating live animations and real-time cinematic experiences on stage using paper shadow puppets, overhead projectors, and other imaging systems. In these performances, Malte seamlessly takes on multiple roles as a visual artist, set designer, technician, and performer.
In his solo shows and site-specific installations, Malte masterfully combines abstract and tangible elements, often incorporating custom-made electromechanical components and shadow play. His works infuse serious themes with a sense of playfulness and handcrafted charm, fostering a lighthearted and engaging atmosphere.

「夜晚的人們在思考什麼？」
基於這個問題，藝術家走訪利澤的居民，收集他們的想法、擔憂與希望，並將這些內容錄製成語音。為了呈現這些心聲，藝術家設計了一個運用利澤居民的聲音來驅動，自動化的機械投影偶裝置。觀眾可以獨自進入這個寧靜而私密的空間，透過自身的存在，喚起社群的集體意識，讓這些聲音更為鮮活。
此外，藝術家也將透過一場精緻短小的表演，進一步探索「午夜」這一主題，結合機械偶與人偶操控，展現故事的多重層次。

What do people think about at night?
Inspired by this question, the artist interviewed residents of Lize, recording their thoughts, worries, and hopes as voice recordings. For the presentation, the artist created an installation of autonomous mechatronic shadow puppets, brought to life by the voices of Lize’s people. Visitors are invited to step into this quiet, intimate space alone, where their presence animates the collective consciousness of the community.
In addition, the artist will present a short performance exploring the theme of midnight, blending mechatronic puppetry with live human puppeteering to offer a deeper reflection on the subject.
