Anamarija Šerbetar is a scenographer, puppet designer, and maker from northern Croatia. She delights in creating positive characters with inspiring stories, paying meticulous attention to detail. Her work often features interactive, movable elements in puppets, props, and sets, which she treats as puppets themselves.
Passionate about nature, flowers, and the beauty in small things, she seeks to transform nature’s gentleness and charm into art, capturing the essence of the present moment. Fascinated by the magic of puppetry, she explores creative ways to infuse life with positivity, playfulness, vibrant colors, presence, and love.

在利澤的第一天漫步時,我偶然發現了一個鳥巢,裡面竟然安靜地躺著一隻小青蛙。 這一幕深深觸動了我,讓我開始思考我們如何構建自己的家—不僅是實體的家園,也包括心靈上的居所。同時,這也引發了我對內心世界的滋養,與對外在世界關懷的反思。
在這個精緻又多彩的世界裡,我們每個人都在建造屬於自己的巢穴—那些內外世界交匯的空間
當我踏入新的環境時,我發現自己也在探索內心深處隱藏的空間。彷彿每一次與外界的新邂逅,都能開啟內心世界中未曾探索過的維度。

透過創作,尤其是偶戲藝術的探索,我漸漸意識到,我不僅是在向外拓展,融入新的環境,更是在向內探索,挖掘未知的內心領域。每一次與新朋友的相遇,都像是解鎖了內在的新房間;每個靈魂的出現,都為我揭示了一片全然獨特的空間。有些房間溫暖柔軟,有些則有窗戶或玻璃牆,每一處都映射出我與那人之間形成的連結。
不久後,我發現這些親密的空間無處不在—它們藏在芒果核裡,隱於澳洲堅果中,伏於被海浪沖上岸的漂流木裡,甚至在新朋友柔和的目光中悄然形成。這些小小的空間邀請我與之互動,為它們創造安全的棲息地。有些空間需要安靜的隱秘;有些則需要向外打開窗戶;有些空間渴望成為繽紛又童趣的景觀;另一些則展示出連結我與他人的細密線條;還有一些甚至邀請小小的偶進駐,讓它們的小型世界栩栩如生。
這些模型所形成的影子,開啟了更多可探索的境地。它們的抽象形式激發了無窮的想像,每一位觀者都能在其中看見獨一無二的故事。

On my first walk around Lize, I stumbled upon a bird’s nest with a tiny frog resting inside. It made me reflect deeply on how we build our homes—both literally and metaphorically. It also prompted me to consider how I nurture my inner world and care for the world around me.
In this beautifully intricate, colorful world, we are all building nests of our own—tiny, expansive spaces where our inner and outer worlds meet.
As I ventured into new environments, I found myself discovering hidden spaces within. It felt as though each fresh encounter with the outer world unlocked new dimensions of my inner landscape.

Through creative expression, particularly in puppetry, I realized I was not only expanding outward into new surroundings but also inward, uncovering unknown inner environments. Each new person I met was like unlocking a room within myself—every soul I encountered revealed a different space, entirely unique from those I had known before. Some rooms were warm and soft, others had windows or glass walls, reflecting the nature of the connection I had formed.
Soon, I began noticing these intimate spaces everywhere—emerging from a mango pit, hiding within a macadamia nut, nestled in wood washed up on the beach, or even forming in the gentle gaze of a new friend. These little spaces invited me to interact with them, to create safe places inside and around them. Some called for quiet closure, others for windows that opened outwards. Some wanted to become colorful, playful landscapes, while others revealed threads connecting me to others. A few even seemed to ask for tiny puppets to inhabit them, bringing their miniature worlds to life.
These models cast shadows, opening yet more realms to explore. In their abstract forms, they invite endless interpretations, allowing each observer to see something different.
